Recent Fee Schedule Updates

• Update September 10, 2026: The Planning Fee Schedule was updated to include the new Major Temporary Use Permit (MTZ) fee and to remove the obsolete Temporary Mobile Home (TMZ) fee.
• Update December 4, 2025: The Planning Fee Schedule was updated to correct fees for Environmental Management Department which came into effect on July 1, 2025.
• Update Effective July 1, 2025: The Planning Fee Schedule will be updated effective July​ 1, 2025 to reflect an increase in the Technology (IT) Cost Recovery Fee pursuant to Sacramento County Ordinance SCC No. 1755 (April 8, 2024)​ from 4.5% of total assessed fees, not to exceed $350; to 6.5% of total assessed fees, not to exceed $850.​

Development Fee Deferral Programs

The Development Fee Deferral Program provides fee waivers as incentives to encourage development for affordable housing, residential in general, and certain non-residential development.

Environmental Review Fees

The cost of the environmental analysis for a project is dependent upon several factors including the complexity and type of project and site-specific impacts that may be caused by the project. The following link provides general information on how mitigation monitoring costs are calculated. Ultimately, an estimate of the cost of the environmental analysis for a project is calculated by Environmental Review staff based on specific characteristics of the project and its potential impacts.
